Wijsman Advocatuur specializes in employment law and company law. Employment law issues include: dismissal, labour conflicts, non-compete clauses, disability and the Works Council Act. The firm gives counsel to both employers and employees.

Examples of company law issues that are dealt with are: director’s liability, bankruptcy and insolvency, shareholder conflicts, debt collection and (provisional) attachments.

Founder of Wijsman Advocatuur is mr. Jan-Willem Wijsman. For more than eighteen years he focuses on employment law and company law. Furthermore, the court has appointed him trustee in bankruptcy several times.

The Dutch bar association requires that every Dutch lawyer has up-to-date knowledege about the law. Mr. Jan-Willem Wijsman has registered employment law as his legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (‘rechtsgebiedenregister’). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
